چکیده

Invariance has become increasingly important in computer vision. One type of invariance is viewpoint invariance, i.e. properties of viewed objects that are invariant under camera motion. Another important concept is object invariance, i.e. properties of the image plane that only depend on motion and not on the viewed objects. The epipolar constraint is such an example. This paper deals with the generalisation of the epipolar constraint to the problem of analysing sequences of images taken by calibrated or uncalibrated cameras. It is assumed that the correspondences between the points in the different images are known. In a previous paper it is shown how the problem of analysing sequences of images taken by an uncalibrated camera can be simplified by choosing a specific affine basis in each image plane. In this paper we show that this theory has remarkable similarities with the theory for calibrated cameras.

A Canonic Framework for Sequences of Images: The Uncalibrated Case

This paper deals with the problem of analysing sequences of images taken by uncalibrated cameras. It is assumed that the correspondences between the points in the different images are known. This paper introduces a new framework for this problem. The situation of two cameras is described by the reduced fundamental matrix. Another new concept, the reduced fundamental tensor, describes the situat...

A Canonical Framework for Sequences of Images

This paper deals with the problem of analysing sequences of images of rigid point objects taken by uncalibrated cameras. It is assumed that the correspondences between the points in the different images are known. The paper introduces a new framework for this problem. Corresponding points in a sequence of n images are related to each other by a fixed n-linear form. This form is an object invari...

بررسی عملکرد کالیبراسیون نرم‌افزار سیستم دیجیتال CMOS در ارزیابی طول کارکرد کانال

Background and Aims: Estimating the canal length is essential for reaching to a proper endodontic treatment. Any error and miscalculation in estimation of the working length, especially in curved canals, can result in complication during and after root canal therapy. The introduction of digital radiography has enabled us to measure curved canal length. The purpose of this study was to evaluat...

Automatic colorimetric calibration of human wounds

BACKGROUND Recently, digital photography in medicine is considered an acceptable tool in many clinical domains, e.g. wound care. Although ever higher resolutions are available, reproducibility is still poor and visual comparison of images remains difficult. This is even more the case for measurements performed on such images (colour, area, etc.). This problem is often neglected and images are f...

Reconstruction from Image Streams : Continuous Multilinear Constraints

This paper deals with the problem of analysing continuous streams of images of rigid point objects taken by uncalibrated cameras. This analysis will also give some new insight into the problem of estimating structure and motion from image sequences. We study the velocity case of the so called multilinear constraints that exist for each subsequence in a sequence of images. These multilinear velo...
